Parallux’s products are built on its technology: the MASS Audience Synchronization Solution (MASS). At its core, MASS is a show control platform and IoT device management system for XR devices. Using MASS, dozens of audience members are able to see and hear amazing immersive content–as well as one another–from a unique point of view within the same virtual environment. The result is an experience that feels exhilarating, natural, and powerfully social. Most importantly, it is one we hope will introduce thousands of new people to immersive storytelling.
Experiences built with MASS…
CAVE is a coming-of-age tale set 12,000 years in the past, when stories were told around a campfire and the history of our ancestors was written on the walls of caves. Using the latest in experiential technology, the piece is designed from the ground up to challenge the status quo around how audiences collectively experience immersive arts and entertainment.
Produced in partnership with the NYU Future Reality Lab, CAVE was sponsored by the likes of Google, Lenovo, Bose, and NVIDIA . It demoed at SIGGRAPH 2018 last fall for audiences of 30 people at a time, and was seen by 2,000 attendees over the course of its four day run.
CAVE made its cultural premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City last April.
Mary and the Monster
An origin story of “Frankenstein” told through the eyes of a young Mary Shelley, Mary and the Monster immerses viewers in the author’s world as she conjures the most famous gothic tale of all time.
Produced in partnership with the NYU Future Reality Lab, this 10-minute immersive short has been selected to be one of four world premieres at SIGGRAPH 2019 in the Immersive Pavilion alongside Walt Disney Animation Studios, Magic Leap, and Epic Games. Chapter One features a shared experience for 8 people across both augmented and virtual reality. The piece will illustrate novel new ways in which immersive content can be delivered to mass audiences.
